R.I.P Heath Ledger 4/4/1979 – 1/22/2008

HeathEstablished actor and rugged sex-pot found dead in Manhattan apartment after an apparent overdose.

Just eight days after the death of 24-year-old actor Brad Renfro, women and men all over the world are shocked by news of the death of one of the US film industry’s cutest Aussies. While many are in mourning today, the majority of people will experience that morbid sense of curiosity when someone they know so much about—but have no connection to whatsoever—dies. Everybody is talking about it but nobody really has the right to feel sadness. So instead we reminisce and recall all the things that made them great.

Ledger first grabbed the attention of international audiences in 1999 with teen comedy 10 Things I Hate About You going on to star in numerous well known films such as The Patriot (2000), A Knight’s Tale (2001), Monster’s Ball (2001) and, most notably, Brokeback Mountain in 2005 (AKA “The Gay Cowboy Movie”). Currently in post-production is Chris Nolan’s The Dark Knight which will be his last full-length feature film, assuming that his current working production, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (2009), will be recast.

Ledger dated a string of beautiful, fair-haired women such as the bug-eyed, childlike figurine that is Heather Graham and Naomi Watts, known for her feisty acting, an erotic lesbian scene, and a pair of extravagantly protruding nipples. He was most recently engaged to Michelle Williams who he took time out to court (while not kissing Jake Gyllenhaal) during the filming of Brokeback Mountain. Williams and Ledger had a child together.

It’s truly sad to see someone with so much potential, a proven track record of good acting and family go to waste so young. Ladies and Gentlemen, take some time to pay your respects to this short-lived beauty, whether that be with a moment of silence or a huge box of tissues…oh, come on, not like that. —Rachel Brook
