Another Blow to Your Sex Life
It seems the highly contagious super-bug wreaking havoc in hospitals internationally, MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureu), is now spreading outside of hospitals in the United States, and being transmitted between gay men during sex, Reuters reported in January.
This is a nasty little infection you definitely want to steer clear of. However, it is not a sexually transmitted infection—it’s carried in the nasal and anal cavities and spread through touch. Therefore this is something we all need to be aware of; especially if we don’t know anything about the past sexual activity of multiple partners.
More shitty news: All you can do fight it, according to doctors, is to wash your hands and your bits before and after sex. Just doesn’t seem like enough! But then again, I’d hope we’d all do that anyway,—especially if you’ve been eating hot-wings. —Rachel Brook
