One For the Bros: Cell Phones Can Lower Sperm Count
Preliminary research suggests men who talk on cell phones four hours a day or more have significantly lower sperm counts than those who do not, Reuters reported.
“In a study of 361 men seen at their infertility clinic, researchers at the Cleveland Clinic found an association between the patients’ cell phone use and their sperm quality.” Basically, the longer a dude talks on his cell phone, the lower his sperm count is—and the higher the percentage of abnormal sperm.
Findings were published in the journal Fertility and Sterility.
In typical PC fashion, lead research Dr. Ashok Agarwal had this to say: “Our results show a strong association of cell phone use with decreased semen quality. However, they do not prove a cause-and-effect relationship.” Whatever.
